My portafilter used to get those little dents on the rim from tapping, but this base has completely stopped that. The rubber is dense enough that it absorbs the knock without feeling mushy, and it sits flat and stable on my counter. Exactly what I needed for my morning routine.

I was a bit skeptical at first, but the rubberized bottom grips the counter perfectly when I knock out grounds. It's noticeably quieter than my old metal tamper, too.

The rubber base on this tamper really does soften the knock against the portafilter, and it’s made a noticeable difference in how smoothly my espresso routine goes. Feels solid and well-constructed without being overly heavy.
